Using a Dycem approved cleaner, spray the mat.

Using a squeegee, agitate the surface to lift particulate.

Wipe away the dirty liquid from the mat and dispose.
Cleaning Contamination Control Mats, such as Dycem is simple and can easily be integrated into your facility’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for wet cleaning. The material may appear dirty between cleanings, which is a sign that it’s effectively trapping contaminants.
Customers receive comprehensive instructions for cleaning and maintaining Dycem products to maximize their lifespan and effectiveness. Adhering to these guidelines is crucial for ensuring optimal performance.

Caution: DO NOT USE concentrated bleaching agents, scouring or abrasive powders, or cleaning machines with stiff brushes. A shortened lifespan or damage to the Dycem surface may occur.
Cleaning Instructions for Installed Mats

1. Clean mats once per day, or after each shift in high-traffic areas, to ensure optimal performance. Always use an approved cleaning solution to maintain the mat’s effectiveness. Do not step on the wet portion of the mat while cleaning.

2. Using a spray bottle, mop, or pre-saturated wipe, apply the diluted cleaner to the entire mat ensuring complete coverage. For larger installations, complete all cleaning steps in sections.

3. Using a squeegee system agitate the surface of the mat lifting the retained particulates.

4. Mats should be agitated in both a vertical and horizontal direction to ensure all contamination is lifted and removed. Start closest to the controlled area and work backward.

5. Continue to agitate with the squeegee in a horizontal direction, starting closest to the controlled space and working outward.

6. Pull the dirty liquid to the edge of the mat surface using the squeegee. Collect with a sponge, mop, or cloth and dispose per facility mandated SOP’s. For heavily saturated mats, repeat cleaning steps 1-6 until the liquid removed is visibly clear. Allow the mat to dry before use.
Cleaning Instructions for Floating Mats

1. Clean mats once per day, or after each shift in high-traffic areas, to ensure optimal performance. Always use an approved cleaning solution to maintain the mat’s effectiveness. Do not step on the wet portion of the mat while cleaning.

2. Clean the subfloor, agitating with a hard foam squeegee in a vertical direction, and remove excess residue/liquid. Repeat horizontally.

3. Clean the underside of the Dycem mat using an isopropyl alcohol wipe (70/30 IPA recommended) and allow it to dry.

4. Replace the Dycem mat on the subfloor. Using a spray bottle, mop, or pre-saturated wipe, apply the diluted cleaner to the entire mat ensuring complete coverage.

5. Using a squeegee system, such as a Vikan, agitate the surface of the mat lifting the retained particulates. Working from closest to the controlled area moving outwards, agitate in both a vertical and horizontal direction for maximum contamination removal.

Cleaning Instructions for S Motion

1. Clean Dycem mats once per day, or after each shift in high-traffic areas, to ensure optimal performance. Use a flat mop and a Dycem-approved cleaning solution to maintain the mat’s effectiveness. Do not step on the wet portion of the mat while cleaning.

2. Dampen the flat mop and start by cleaning the edges of the mat, split into sections if the mat is large or has a demarcation line.

3. Move the mop over the surface of the Dycem using an S-shaped motion. Start closest to the controlled space and work outward.

4.Using a dry flat mop, dry the mat using an S-shaped motion. Start closest to the controlled space and work outward.

5. Collect any dirty liquid with a a dry flat mop, or cloth and dispose per facility mandated SOP’s.

6. Repeat steps 2-4 until the mat is clean. Allow the mat to dry before use.
